For [ profile] thier_sess -- Nukume Dori, Annex VI: Support Staff excerpt. (6.1MB)

For [ profile] iromakuzarukas -- Nukume Dori, Annex III: Hunter excerpt. (7.7MB)

Next: In My Line of Work II excerpt and Morning chapter 5 excerpt.

Last: Pieces excerpt, and End of the Line possible in its entirety because it's a oneshot, and there's lots of good talking in it.

I'm still alive! Despite work and real life dramas and well, work. And I totally have something new to update with for Christmas, except it needs to be cleared by other parties before I can put it up online. In the meantime, in case I don't get clearance to post it for Christmas I'm taking up the option to do something else.

There's a meme going around to "read an excerpt or a fic of yours aloud", which is very nifty. Here's how it works: you pick a passage from anything I've written (the meme gives a limit of 500 words but I'm willing to go for a single scene*), I go away and record myself reading it, and then I post it up for you to download and listen to my Australian-yet-apparently-vaguely-British accented English. It's as easy as that, and potentially lots of fun because I actively read my fics aloud when writing them to get the dialogue flow and pacing and so forth. Actually, there was one time I submitted Glass Eyes for a university creative writing course and not only did I get top marks for it, I had to read that entire fic aloud to the whole lecture theatre in my best creepy little girl's voice.

I promise to update with fic, really, real life is just grabbing me by the neck lately T_T

* Conditions
- Although I'm more than willing to read aloud a whole scene, if the scene is too long I reserve the right to cut it down.
- No porn or sex fics/scenes. Writing them is one thing; reading it aloud is quite another, and besides, they're far less interesting read aloud than banter or dialogue.

The good thing about my iPhone is that I now have a documents application which means I can work on stories while I'm on the train to work and well, anywhere.

Stolen from half my flist: Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

While I'm revising the original plan for Nukume Dori writing/studying/working, here's an interesting writing meme:

Comment with a story I've written and I'll tell you what didn't make it to the final draft.

I'm the kind of person who keeps literally all her notes and scribbles, so this could be interesting :)

Meme love?

Nukume Dori 13 is approaching 10,000 words, most of it revolving around misunderstanding and "okay maybe I'm a jerk"-ness from Subaru. In the meantime, have a meme.

Name any story I've written, and any character in it, and I'll tell you three things about that character which I didn't put in the story.

Fic meme!

Something interestingly amusing whilst I'm busy with the Life!

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

Stolen from [ profile] tammaiya and [ profile] harukami:

A-- go to my fics and pick out a line or two from one of my stories.
B-- I will respond with which story I think it's from.
C-- points and a scene to anyone who stumps me.

Already I'm two drabbles in debt >.> I think this fic-journal is going to be quite noisy for the next few days.
